Not only was it an exciting experience for those that witnessed it, but it made history for both the university and the PBC. This national championship is the first for the Clayton State women’s basketball team and also the first ever women’s basketball championship title for the PBC. Clearly the Lakers had more than enough to celebrate as they held their trophy proudly.

A First For The Lakers
The women’s basketball team of Clayton State gave the Peach Belt Conference its 30th overall championships win. The Lady Lakers beat Michigan State for the Division II National title. Teshymia Tillman led the team which was no surprise since she was named “Most Outstanding Player”. Clayton State had only lost one game going into the national championship while Michigan State had lost three. To conclude the game the Lakers hit a 47% shots from the field and forced the Huskies to a season-low point total.
